My Spiritual Path

Early on in my life, I knew that I was here on Earth for some specific purpose. I could feel my deep connection to the land and other people when I was very young. I had always been an empathetic child, to the point that my Kindergarten teacher told my mom that it was unusual for a six year old to care so much about her peers. I would show genuine concern for my classmates and make an effort to comfort them when they were having a hard time. My inner child certainly knew my purpose, but at some point along the way, as most growing humans do, I forgot. As I began to learn how to interact and fit in with others, my authentic expression faded in an effort to make myself more palatable socially.
Once I got older, the pull toward my purpose became subtler and quieter, and I got distracted by my life experiences and trying to figure out how I fit into this world through the filter of other people’s preferences. I could feel my spiritual path calling to me, but for many years I felt completely lost when I tried to find next steps on the path. Somewhere deep inside, I knew that I was here to learn and grow and find a way to share my heart with the world, but that was a scary thing to consider as a teenager and young adult. It took a lot of soul searching and breaking out of societal patterns to peel off the layers of conditioning that I had taken on as my identity to find my true self. She was hiding there quietly in the stillness all along waiting for her moment to shine.
I had to go through a series of incredibly difficult circumstances in order to facilitate this growth process that eventually led me to my path. I’ve experienced immense pain, and I see now that it was completely necessary to bring me home to myself. The false conditioning and societal pressure that we endure through our life experiences foster separation within our being. The conflict that we feel over this internal struggle is our soul desperately trying to break us out of the illusion that we should be anything other than who we truly are. Once I realized that I needed to distil myself down to who I am at my core, I began the process of cultivating the person I was always meant to be. At that point, I made a commitment to myself and my spiritual path, and I vowed to go wherever it sent me. In that moment, I decided to take each step without knowing where it would lead, and I chose to strive for my highest potential no matter how difficult it might be.
Now my days are filled with learning, growing, working on letting go of my blocks, and healing from every painful experience I’ve had along the way. I know that part of my purpose is sharing what I’ve learned with others who have also made this commitment to themselves. This has required a total surrender of my fears and doubts, and I’ve been called to find more patience, faith, trust, and hope every day. This journey has completely transformed me for the better one step at a time, and I’m truly grateful for everything I’ve discovered about life through this process. It has allowed me to step fully into who I am and my personal power, and I know that gift is worth going through the difficult phases. This path forced me to stop playing small and earnestly go all in on myself and my dreams.
What you’re here to do is likely bigger than you could have ever imagined, but it is also likely to be simpler than you imagined as well. When I finally figured out my mission on Earth, it seemed too easy at first, until I realized the gravity of what I was being called to do. I am here to shine my light and reflect Spirit’s love into the world. My attempts to grasp my purpose over the years have overcomplicated this simple task, but I understand why the confusion was necessary. Attempting to control my circumstances caused delays and stagnation, but that lesson taught me patience in the end. Once you realize what your soul is trying to teach you, the fog lifts around you, and you realize that your winding path is leading somewhere beautiful after all. My greatest hope for you is that you find your way to your deepest self, whichever way you choose. Your heart knows the way, and the decision will always be yours.
