Emotional Debt
We all have the opportunity to feel our emotions in the moment they occur, but we’ve been conditioned by society to avoid them and focus on doing rather than feeling. When something traumatic happens and we’re hit with an overwhelming flood of emotions, we often find distractions to occupy our minds while we quietly find places in our bodies to store them for later. This backlog of unfelt emotions continues to grow until we eventually feel them, hold them, and let them go. Triggering situations will manifest in our lives continuously to bring them back to the surface to allow us to address them and free up space within. It’s essential to realize that these emotions cannot be escaped, only stored. This emotional debt must be paid back with interest because trapped emotions will fester and grow if left unattended. While they’re being stored in our bodies, they will bring about illness and disease because they are incompatible with our health and wellbeing.
They attract more negative circumstances in an attempt to be brought to the surface, and this ultimately adds to our suffering physically and emotionally. If your emotional avoidance runs unchecked for too long, it can surmount a debt that can’t be paid back in your current lifetime. This is why so many of us bring this baggage from life to life until we eventually become ready to address all of it. Once we understand that we’re carrying things that must be released, we can see why our negative experiences in life are absolutely necessary. These experiences unearth emotions that we’ve been storing for so long that we can’t even remember where they came from, and feeling them only stands to benefit us in the long run. If you resonate with being a cycle breaker, it’s important for you to understand that you’re finally addressing trapped emotions from other lifetimes where you didn’t have the emotional capacity to feel them.
If you’re experiencing something that feels much heavier or deeper than your current situation would justify, you’re likely tapping into a well that you’ve been pouring into over many lifetimes. When you confront shame in this lifetime that’s been triggered by your circumstances, you create an opportunity to feel your trapped shame that’s accumulated for your soul over all of your lifetimes. This is why it’s so important to challenge ourselves to feel as much as we can in the moment when the triggering occurs. If you can feel it all initially, you can avoid adding to the debt, and this painful situation can become an opportunity to repay a portion if you have the capacity to endure it. This takes a lot of strength and some practice, but once you get used to allowing your emotional experience, you can train yourself to feel something until it’s ready to leave each time you’re triggered.
The more you feel, the more your capacity to feel grows, and you can set yourself free from this energetic backlog that’s been waiting lifetimes to be released. This is the true weight of our karmic debt that keeps us stuck in the cycle of reincarnation. We must come back until we resolve all of the emotions that are holding fragments of our soul and trapping them on the earthly plane. Resolving your karma doesn’t mean that you have to pay for all of the bad things you’ve done. It means that you must break out of your toxic cycles that are preventing you from addressing your emotional debt. In most lifetimes, we’re simply chipping away at this debt painstakingly over time by making the minimum payment for each occurrence. Our souls choose cycle breaking lifetimes that are incredibly difficult in order to give us the opportunity to resolve things more swiftly through larger settlements.
If we’re forced by our circumstances to endure immense suffering, our soul is ultimately set free forever once we’re able to achieve balance within. As humans, we would never choose this, and that’s why our higher selves are able to control certain fated events along our path. They set us up for the fall because they know that we must feel these emotions that we’ve been avoiding. We’re protected along the path to ensure that we have the opportunity to succeed and reach our highest potential in cycle breaking lifetimes, which is to feel it all and leave this lifetime debt free. Your higher self is determined to achieve this, and they give you everything you need to win. Unfortunately, from our perspective, that often looks like a lot of difficulties that are entirely unavoidable and outside of our control. This is why it’s so important to trust your path and surrender to the unfolding of your life.
If you can rely on your higher self to move the pieces around on the board, you can simply take one step at a time and live out the life you’ve been handed. We must play the cards we’re dealt as humans because when we try to control our lives we get off track and lead ourselves into the path of destruction. Our vantage point lacks so much information because we can’t see the full picture. Whenever we try to circumvent fate, our higher selves will adjust the landscape to make sure that their will is ultimately carried out regardless of our interference. This is why the path of surrender is much more fruitful and is truly the path of least resistance. If we want to create ease and flow in our lives, we must let go and allow the current of life to move us from one place to the next in accordance with divine timing. Attempting to manifest things that aren’t in alignment with our true path causes delays and frustrations.
If you can increase your faith and let go of your desire to control your life, your higher self can surprise you with wonderful opportunities. If you allow yourself to feel your emotions in the moment, you don’t have to waste time feeling them later after they’ve doubled in size. You can use your energy to move forward and expand on a soul level rather than attempting to cheat the system by turning away from your pain and chasing temporary relief that’s ultimately empty. The beauty of operating this way is that the work can be completed immediately and once and for all, which allows you to enjoy the fruits of human existence without the weight of your pain. This is why cathartic releases leave us feeling better and lighter. Letting go of emotions creates the opportunity to feel true relief from suffering. If you’re ready to experience this relief, realize that you’re strong enough to endure the weight of your emotions and choose to set yourself free by learning to feel them without delay.
